The ADC Kaduna Youth Vanguard Support Group (Zone One) has expressed concern over reports alleging plans to disqualify Senator Suleiman Abdu Kwari from the Kaduna North Senatorial primary election of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
At a press conference held on May 30, 2026, the group said there were indications of unfairness and bias in the conduct of the party’s primary election process.
The group recalled that on May 29, Senator Suleiman Abdu Kwari publicly complained that he had not received any official communication regarding the alleged rescheduling of the primary election, while also demanding details of the election date, venue, delegate accreditation process, and list of eligible voters.
However, instead of addressing those concerns, the group said reports had now emerged suggesting attempts to prevent him from participating in the race entirely.
According to the group, this has fueled suspicions that certain interests within the party are working to ensure the emergence of the incumbent senator representing Kaduna North, Ibrahim Khalid Soba, who recently joined the ADC.
The group clarified that it has no personal issue with Senator Soba or his ambition, but opposes any attempt to give preferential treatment to one aspirant over others.
It also expressed concern over reports recommending the disqualification of Suleiman Abdu Kwari, stating that no clear evidence had been publicly presented to justify the allegations against him.
The group described it as surprising that the senator was initially screened and cleared by the party, only for efforts to later emerge aimed at reversing that decision without any publicly stated reason.
The group warned that any attempt to conduct the primary election while unlawfully excluding aspirants could lead to disputes and legal challenges within the party.
In conclusion, the group reaffirmed its support for Senator Suleiman Abdu Kwari’s call for a transparent and credible primary election in which delegates will freely decide who flies the ADC flag in the 2027 general elections.
