Kaduna’s Political Realignment and the Value of Experience
Writing by Concerned Citizen

The reported return of some former associates of Malam Nasir El-Rufai to the APC, alongside their support for Governor Uba Sani, signals a notable shift in Kaduna’s political landscape ahead of the 2027 elections.
Among those linked to the move are Bashir Saidu, Nasir Abdullahi Maikano, Moukhtar Isa Hazo and Senator Suleiman Abdu Kwari, all of whom have held various political and government positions.
Their experience in governance, legislation and public administration could be valuable to Kaduna if properly channelled towards good governance and development.
The development also highlights the importance of reconciliation and cooperation despite past political differences. What matters now is whether their experience can translate into useful ideas, policies and measurable contributions to the people.
Governor Uba Sani could view the development as an opportunity to bring together experience from different political generations, while the returning politicians have a responsibility to make their support meaningful through constructive engagement.
Will this political realignment strengthen unity and governance in Kaduna, or is it simply another strategy ahead of the 2027 elections?
